PlayStation Blog: There are a lot of military shooters these days. For a very long time, the core pillars of Battlefield have been the destruction, the sandbox experience, the scale, and the vehicle gameplay. My first Battlefield game was Bad Company.
Battlefield 3 on Battlelog – PC section. Between 60° and 90°; for higher settings use BF3 Settings Editor or Flawless Matchmaking. May not.
Has any game been more inescapable over the past 12 months than Battlefield 3? EA’s biggest ever shooter has drowned the industry in a tsunami of orange and teal, dominating the headlines pre, during and post launch. Even the most casual observer must have been sucked up by some of the hype. Those players, then, probably don’t know what’s happening to one of the world’s most popular videogames. There’s a seedy, repugnant underbelly dead set on controlling and ultimately ruining what is one of the finest shooters ever made.
And for many, it’s just too much to bear. Where once everyone competed on a level-playing field, one restricted and governed by the rules and balances DICE introduced to its game, now each server has its own rules. Selecting Quick Match – the typical ‘go-to’ option of most online games – is a real roll of the dice if you’ll excuse the pun , as you’ll be dropped into one of thousands of fan-run servers.
Sooo, is there just no matchmaking for BF3 on Xbox anymore? Cause I’m sick of getting into games where you play the same map. Keep it in the Official BF3 thread, prease. The matchmaking issue could just be bad luck, it’s day one; I definitely saw that happen during the Beta, and I. Matchmaking finns bde i BF3 och BF4 s det r inget nytt. Serverbrowser kommer finnas ven i BF1.
many wondered if EA’s similar Battlelog service for Battlefield 3 would follow a similar pattern, offering matchmaking, friends lists and voice.
Last year, Swedish-based developers Digital Illusions CE set out to launch not just a game, but an experience—an ever-changing and evolving experiment, if you will—which would serve as a platform from which future Battlefield titles would stem. More than a year after the release, after more than a year of patches, updates, rule-changes and several massive expansions, how has Battlefield 3 held up?
Battlefield 3 was built to last. Bearing this in mind, it might still be too early to peek into the looking glass and speculate the future of the Battlefield franchise. But having passed the one-year mark, perhaps a bit of debriefing is in order. What has worked and what has not? How does their idea of post-launch support rate? Is their Premium service really all that “premium? It’s tough for a first-person shooter to produce multiplayer expansions in the real sense of the word.
I find that the Call of Duty series in particular struggles with this.
January News Roundup – Getaway, Competitive Matchmaking, Event Schedules
Welcome to January, here’s hoping your new year is off to a good start! Battlefield news is pretty minimal for the beginning of the year, with the main points being Battlefield Hardline: Getaway releasing next week, and development on the Battlefield title confirmed to be underway at DICE Stockholm. Let’s get to it! The third paid expansion for Battlefield Hardline , Getaway , will be releasing for Premium members next week on January 12,
Across multiple gaming systems, Battlelog allows Battlefield players to save games and take advantage of web-based matchmaking and online events. closely together with EA and DICE to build Battlelog for Battlefield 3.
Battlefield 3 launched to critical praise from game journalists, but as with most online-based games, once the public jumped into the fray several issues surfaced. EA’s servers had trouble accommodating the heavy demand, and many people decried the new web-based Battlelog service. Now that the game’s been patched a couple times, we checked in to see how the game is performing. Battlefield 3 debuted at the number three spot on the Xbox Live activity report issued by Major Nelson each week.
It rose to the number two spot the following week, but has since dropped into the fourth slot behind Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops, and Skyrim. Battlefield games rarely have major balancing issues, and many of the more annoying issues that plagued other entries like chopper circle strafing in Bad Company 2 are resolved in this iteration. One issue that bares mentioning, however, is mortar spamming.
The only way to take them out is to counter-mortar, but in hardcore matches the overzealous spamming results in way too many deaths. Overall the map selection feels like a step back from previous Battlefield games, mostly because DICE is trying to appeal to both its traditional fan base and new players more accustomed to playing close-quarters battles.
The Battlefield 3 maps offer a variety of both, but far too many of them have control points positioned too closely together in conquest mode. This concentrates the battles so there is less long distance running to firefights — which isn’t a bad thing — but too many maps devolve into corridor firefights at strategic choke points. Judging from the fan response in the forums, the maps that embrace the larger environments and include more vehicles — like Caspian Border and Kharg Island — seem to be the most popular.
That’s probably not a coincidence. You can never give a shooter community too many maps.
Battlefield 3 Review: Multiplayer
Hi, I just got BF3 the other day and the matchmaking won’t work at all for me. All I get is the little pop-up at the bottom left and it says “Matchmaking I looked it up and can’t seem to find anything that helps. I don’t have any anti-virus on my pc, so that’s definitely not it. Can anyone help?
“Could not finish your matchmaking request, please try again” anyone have some insight to this? I have UPnP enabled on router, and I don’t.

No Server Browser in BF3?
I don’t know if this has been confirmed or not but I do know the console community have been requesting a server browser. I wonder though if it has been ruled out as I hear some interesting things about the PC version. Some of you may know we will have Battlelog which looks like a cool web based feature of checking out stats uploading in real-time and tracking friends and enemies across multiple platforms. However Battlelog to my knowledge will not be accessed in game and on the PC you are required to have it open in a browser window while running BF3.
The rumours floating about at the moment are that the actual PC server browser is not going to be in game it is actually found via the web browser while logged into Battlelog. Taking a browser out from within the game on one platform may not good for a in-game browser on consoles?
